Although markings such as blazes or socks are infrequent, they are not unheard of. The mane and tail are often dark, matching the coat color, with an average length typical of sport horses. Their eyes are usually dark brown, and as they mature, their muscular contours may soften, yet retain their underlying strength.

Behavior

Holsteiner are recognized for their willingness to work and their keen intelligence. These horses are renowned for their calm, trainable, and responsive nature. Typically social, they adapt well in group settings. Their quick reaction to stimuli and intense focus make them excellent performance horses, yet it demands an experienced handler. One unique indicator of their mood is a pronounced swishing of the tail when annoyed.
