   Diet
Keeled earless lizard primarily dines on insects, with a marked preference for ants and termites. It supplements this insectivorous diet with a variety of plant matter, including leaves and seeds.
   Appearance
Keeled earless lizard is a small, flat-bodied lizard with a rough, scaly skin. This species is characteristically grey-brown in color, with males having distinct green-blue patches on their sides. They possess long slender bodies with tails which are almost twice the length of their bodies. Keeled earless lizard doesn't exhibit significant differences in appearance due to age or subspecies, but males are considerably more colorful than females.
   Behavior
Keeled earless lizard is a primarily diurnal species, typically solitary but known for its bold and aggressive behaviors when defending territory. Non-migratory, it stays within a well-defined home range, which is often marked physically through a behavior called ‘sand-bathing’. Its burrowing habits offer both shelter and an effective thermal regulation strategy in its arid habitat.
