Heliobolus lugubris, also known commonly as the bushveld lizard, is a species of lizard in the family Lacertidae. The species is native to southern Africa.

Appearance
Bushveld lizard is a small lizard with tough, scalloped scales that give it a prickly look. A robust tail and short, powerful limbs complete its rugged appearance. Behavior
