Originating in The Netherlands, this breed demonstrates an incredible balance of calm demeanor and hardworking traits, making it an invaluable asset in agricultural labor, sports, and carriage driving. Interestingly, this breed was nearly extinct in the 1970s but, thanks to concerted preservation efforts, the groningen Horse continues to thrive today.
