 Wiegmann's striped gecko (Gonatodes vittatus) is a species of lizard in the Sphaerodactylidae family native to northern South America.

   Appearance

It exhibits a prominent pattern, featuring nose-to-tail dark stripes against a yellowish or tan base color. This species has large, round eyes and a long, thin tail. Males distinguish themselves by the presence of large, dark throat patches. 
   Behavior
 Wiegmann's striped gecko is a diurnal, solitary species. These reptiles spend most of their day hunting for insects and return to their holes in tree bark or rock crevices by dusk.
