Appearance
Balloon frog is a small, short-bodied amphibian with smooth, moist skin. It’s distinctively round and plump, resembling a bloated sphere. Its primary coloration is a dull, brownish-gray, occasionally bearing darker blotches or spots across its body. Crucial features include its tiny, rudimentary legs and its extraordinarily wide mouth, the latter of which gives it a perpetual gape.
Behavior
Balloon frog is a nocturnal amphibian, primarily seen after heavy rainfall. Known for its burrowing capability, it creates submerged chambers in soft, damp soil, where it rests during the day. Exceptionally solitary, it only interacts with others during the mating season. Its survival is due to its cryptic behavior, blending with the environment to avoid predators.
