Description
The oceanic gecko, Gehyra oceanica, is a species of gecko in the genus Gehyra. It is also known as the Pacific Dtella or the big tree gecko. The larger Gehyra vorax (voracious gecko) of Fiji, Vanuatu and New Guinea has sometimes been included in this species, but is now treated as distinct.

Appearance

This nocturnal creature's distinct feature is its large, bulbous eyes, advantageous for night vision. Like many geckos, it has slim limbs with adhesive pads at its toes, facilitating skilled climbing. Oceanic gecko lacks significant sexual dimorphism or notable age-related differences in appearance.
Behavior
Oceanic gecko demonstrates arboreal agility, often found in tree crevices during the day. This nocturnal animal exhibits a solitary lifestyle, each maintaining a well-defined territory. It utilizes its excellent camouflage skills to blend in the tree bark, thus enhancing survival in its habitat.
