Diet
Rainbow boa are primarily carnivorous, consuming small mammals and birds. They possess specialized methods to subdue prey, often coiling around it before consumption. Despite their carnivorous nature, they occasionally ingest fruits.
Appearance
Rainbow boa is a medium-sized snake with a slender body covered in smooth, iridescent scales. It possesses a rainbow-like coloration due to the refracting light off its scales, predominantly in hues of red, orange, and brown. There are no significant differences in appearance due to age, gender, or subspecies, giving rainbow boa a uniform look throughout their life cycle.
Behavior
Rainbow boa is primarily a nocturnal and solitary species, noted for its arboreal lifestyle. It exhibits pronounced ambush hunting behavior, remaining still and camouflaged in foliage until prey approaches. Not known for territoriality, this species roams freely in its habitat.
