Description

Ihering's fathead anole exhibits secretive behavior, comfortably dwelling in the leaf litter of its native Atlantic Forest. Their primary mode of decomposition, these skittish reptiles assist in the fertilization of undergrowth. With variation in dietary habits according to age, juveniles primarily feed on arthropods, while adults add small vertebrates to their menu, indicating a notable ecological function across their lifecycle.
