Discoglossus scovazzi (common name: Moroccan painted frog, in French discoglosse peint or discoglosse à ventre blanc) is a species of frog in the Alytidae family. It is found in Morocco as well as in the Spanish North African enclaves Ceuta and Melilla.

Moroccan painted frog's dietary habits are primarily insectivorous, with its diet largely comprised of various freshwater invertebrates such as small crustaceans and mosquito larvae. It also consumes terrestrial insects and occasionally, earthworms.
Appearance
Moroccan painted frog is a small-sized amphibian with a rounded, sturdy body, and moist, smooth skin. Its coloration ranges from dark brown to olive green, blending seamlessly into its surroundings. These toads have prominent, bulging eyes, and their most noteworthy feature is the presence of a distinctive disc-shaped, visible tympanum on each side of the head. There are no substantial visual differences between sexes, age groups, or subspecies.
Behavior
Moroccan painted frog is an active nocturnal species, outside of mating season, it prefers a solitary lifestyle. Its behavior patterns include remaining submerged in shallow water, often in mud, to escape predators or extreme temperatures. Moroccan painted frog is territorial, showing aggression to protect its space. Not characterized by migration, it shows adaptation to its Mediterranean habitat.
