Diet
Boettger's colombian tree frog primarily feed on small invertebrates, with a strong preference for arthropods. Tiny arachnids and insects, especially dipterans (flies) and ants, form a significant portion of their dietary intake.
Appearance
Boettger's colombian tree frog is a small frog with a slender body, characterized by a smooth and delicate skin. Its overall coloration is leaf-green, with a distinct pale yellow stripe running from the eye to the groin. No significant physical differences are observed between genders, age levels, or subspecies. Lack of any horns, wings, or tail further emphasise its streamline shape.
Behavior
Boettger's colombian tree frog is an agile nocturnal species primarily known for its unique mating strategy, where males vocally compete for breeding territories. Generally solitary, they only gather when breeding, producing a distinct chorus of calls. They engage in opportunistic feeding behavior and depend mainly on small arthropods. Boettger's colombian tree frog has a strong affinity for elevated perches from which they call and defend their territory.
