Appearance
Painted dragon is a small, robust lizard with coarse, granular scales. It is mostly notable for its striking color variation, presenting a myriad of patterns from dark grey or black with yellow spots to bright red with black markings. Male lizards often display more vibrant colors. It possesses a tall, slightly compressed body, and its tail is almost twice as long as its body which aids in balance and mobility.
Behavior
Active during the day, painted dragon tend to stay solitary outside the breeding season, congregating in small groups only by necessity. Painted dragon are territorial, and males engage in dynamic visual displays to defend their domain.
