Description
Craugastor raniformis (common name: robber frog) is a species of frog in the family Craugastoridae. It is found in Colombia and Panama. It is a reasonably common species found in humid lowland and montane forests up to 1,500Â m (4,900Â ft) asl. It is also common in wet pastureland. Furthermore, it is one of the dominant frogs in abandoned mixed farming areas in the coastal Pacific rainforests in Colombia. This adaptable species is not considered threatened.

Robber frog primarily exhibits an insectivorous diet, selectively foraging for various arthropods. The species shows a particular preference for ants and beetles, exploiting these intricate creatures as its main sustenance source.
Appearance
Robber frog is a medium-sized amphibian with a robust body. Its smooth, moist skin is predominantly dark brown, often with lighter brown patterns. Adults typically have a prominent conical protuberance at the heel and dark bars on the upper lip. The males generally possess a large vocal sac, a feature absent in females.
Behavior
Robber frog displays a predominantly solitary and nocturnal lifestyle, highly adapted to the moist forest floors it typically inhabits. Characteristically, it is an opportunistic feeder, predominantly surviving on insects and small vertebrates. No unique territorial behaviors have been identified for this species.
