Diet
Crested gecko primarily subsists on an omnivorous diet, manifesting a predilection for soft, ripe fruits and small invertebrates. It derives essential proteins from consuming live prey, namely, crickets and snails.
Appearance
Crested gecko is a small lizard with a semi-prehensile tail, rough skin and spiny scales down its back. Primarily gray or brown, it exhibits a distinctive pattern of orange, pink, or red spots. Its eyes are rimmed with distinctive ‘eyelashes,’ actually small, curved scales. Body shape and size varies little between sexes, and there is no dramatic color difference during phases of life.

Crested gecko is largely nocturnal, predominantly solitary, and territorial, marking their land with its unique scent. It displays distinct arboreal habits, adept at climbing due to its specialized toe pads. Uniquely, crested gecko undergoes a pseudo-hibernation period called brumation.
