Appearance
Trinket snake is a medium-sized snake with a slender, smooth-scaled body. Its length can reach up to 180 cm. Its vivid coloration predominantly consists of dark browns, creams, and yellows with checkered patterns throughout its body. Notably, it has a yellowish underbelly marked with black crossbands. Its eyes have round, black pupils, and its head is round with no distinct neck. There is no significant difference in appearance between genders or ages.
Behavior
Primarily a nocturnal creature, trinket snake utilizes its time for active foraging and hunting, specializing in preying on rodents. Notably solitary, territorial disputes are often avoided through chemical signaling. This species is known for its unique defensive posture where it coils up, showcasing the bright underside, simulating a more venomous species, a behavior that's integral for its survival.
