Cnemidophorus gaigei, Gaigeâs rainbow lizard, is a species of teiid lizard endemic to Colombia.

Appearance
Gaige’s rainbow lizard is a slender lizard reaching lengths of 4.5 to 5.5 inches. Its skin is covered in smooth, glossy scales predominantly colored in varied tones of brown, with a conspicuous white or yellowish lateral stripe. Both sexes are similar in coloration and markings. There are no notable changes in appearance due to age, gender, or subspecies.
Behavior
Gaige’s rainbow lizard exhibits a unique parthenogenetic reproductive behavior, creating female-only populations. Typically solitary, they engage in active foraging during the daytime, primarily feeding on arthropods. Gaige’s rainbow lizard frequently use specific body jerking movements and vibrations as a form of communication and to avoid predators.
