Description
Cnemidophorus arubensis is a species of whiptail lizard in the genus Cnemidophorus. It is found on the island of Aruba.

Aruba whiptail or the Aruban Whiptail Lizard primarily sustains itself on a herbivorous diet, choosing to nourish on an ample variety of flowering plants, fruits, and tender leaves, with a slight inclination towards certain succulent species found locally.
Appearance
Aruba whiptail is a slender lizard, with a length of up to 22 cm including the tail. It possesses overlapping, shiny scales that give it a polished look. The lizard is mainly olive in color which transitions into a richer, blue-grey hue towards the tail. Aruba whiptail features a distinctive yellowish stripe down either side, which becomes more pronounced during breeding season. There are no substantive visual differences between genders.
Behavior
Aruba whiptail exhibits sprint-like locomotion for hunting and predator evasion. Fairly solitary, they primarily interact during mating seasons, using physical displays for courtship. This species demonstrates biological adaptation to arid conditions, spending hot daylight hours under shelter, and feeding in the cooler early morning and late afternoon.
