Description
The southern green monkey (Chlorocebus pygerythrus) is a primate species of the family of the meerkat relatives (Cercopithecidae). It is one of the six species in which the green monkeys are distinguished in recent systematics.

Vervet monkey is mainly an omnivorous species, with a preference for a diet that includes different varieties of fruits. The species also feed on leaves, seeds, insects, small vertebrates and even bird eggs, adapting to the available food supply.
Appearance
Vervet monkey has a slender body, covered with fur characterized by a grizzled olive or brownish-gray coloration. Notably, it bears distinctive white facial and throat fur interspersed with a black brow ridge and muzzle. Possessing a long tail, it lacks any horns or wings. Its gender or age does not significantly influence its physical appearance.
Behavior
