  The graceful chameleon (Chamaeleo gracilis) is a species of chameleon native to sub-Saharan Africa. It is commonly around a foot long. Because of its abundance, it is heavily exploited by the pet trade.

 The diet of slender chameleon primarily revolves around variety of small arthropods. Preferring to feed on invertebrates, its main sustenance comprises insects such as crickets, cockroaches, worms, beetles, and caterpillars, requiring daily ingestion for optimal health. 
   Appearance
 Slender chameleon is a slender reptile measuring from 20 to 35 cm long. It has smooth skin covered with small granular scales. The species mainly displays green to brown shades, often marked with lighter or darker spots. It possesses a small head with distinctive large, independently mobile eyes. Its body has a long tail and feet designed for a grasping lifestyle in trees. No prominent differences exist between males and females, juveniles and adults, or among different subspecies. 
   Behavior
 Slender chameleon exhibits predominant solitariness, each marking its territory on trees and shrubs through fecal deposition. Primarily diurnal, it hunts for small insects, ambushing prey with its unique tongue mechanism. It features remarkable color-changing abilities, predominantly used for temperature regulation and communication among peers.
