Appearance
Sika deer is a medium-sized deer with a compact body and long, thin legs. Its coat is reddish-brown in summer, turning greyish-brown in winter, with white underparts and a distinctive white patch on its rump. Males feature three-pronged antlers, while females have small, thin ones. Young individuals are playful and have spotted coats for camouflage. No significant differences exist between various subspecies.
Behavior
Sika deer are crepuscular, most active during dawn and dusk. Characterized by their solitary nature, males are territorial, often marking with scent glands.
