Diet
The diet of philippine tarsier is dominantly frugivorous, with a preference for soft, sugary fruits. However, it also consumes small quantities of insects and nectar, supplementing its high-energy demands and diversifying its nutritional intake. Seasonal availability greatly influences its dietary variability.
Appearance
Philippine tarsier is a small mammal with a slender body, noticeable for its standard fur which is rough and grayish brown, with a light tan, almost white underbelly and face. This creature possesses large, round eyes, a long snout, and erect ears. Additionally, it has a long, thin tail and small hands equipped with sharp claws. There are no substantial differences in appearance due to age, gender or subspecies.
Behavior
Philippine tarsier are primarily arboreal, adept at climbing trees to forage for food and evade predators. They display solitary behavior, interacting with others only during mating season. Notable for their use of vocal communication, philippine tarsier employs a range of distinctive calls for mating, asserting territory, and expressing alarm. Their survival heavily relies on camouflage due to their diminutive size.
