Diet
As a carnivore, eurasian wolf thrives primarily on ungulates such as deer and elk. However, its diet varies widely based on prey availability, occasionally expanding to smaller mammals, carrion, or even vegetation in times of scarcity.
Appearance
Eurasian wolf is a medium to large-sized mammal with a sturdy, streamlined body. Its fur is dense and straight, covering a thick undercoat. Predominantly grey, the fur also shows white, black, and brown hues, often with darker tones on the back and lighter ones on the belly. Males are usually larger and possess a broader head and neck than females. This species boasts a bushy tail, erect ears, and strong limbs ending in large paws.
Behavior
Eurasian wolf primarily behave as pack animals with a stratified, alpha-led social structure. Dominated by territorial instincts, they mark their range through scent marking and vocalizations. Hunting in methodical tactics driven groups, they primarily pursue ungulate prey. Keenly adapted to cold climates, their behavior includes rest during daytime and heightened activity at dawn and dusk.
