 The banana croissant (Callosciurus notatus) is a mammal in the genus squirrel, which occurs on various Southeast Asian islands.

 The primary diet of plantain squirrel consists of fruits and seeds, with a preference for oil palm kernels. This species is also known to consume insects and tree bark, indicating a predominantly omnivorous diet. 
   Appearance
 Plantain squirrel is a small-sized squirrel with a slender, elongated body and surprisingly soft fur. Its prominent feature is the vibrant shades of reddish-brown and black that merge to form a unique body coloration. They display a lighter shade of creams to greys on their underparts. This animal has a long bushy tail often used for balance. There are minimal apparent differences in physical appearances across genders or subspecies. 
   Behavior
 Plantain squirrel are diurnal rodents, exhibiting notable arboreal and foraging activities during the broad daylight. These species show a solitary nature, often territorial, and only interact for mating purposes. Notably, they are acrobat jumpers, moving swiftly from one split of a tree branch to another displaying their adept survival techniques.
