Description
The gray squirrel (Callosciurus caniceps) is a species of squirrel from the genus squirrel (Callosciurus). It occurs in South and Southeast Asia from the south of the province of Yunnan, People's Republic of China, via Myanmar and Thailand to the Malay Peninsula.

Appearance
Grey-bellied squirrel is a small-sized squirrel with a slender body, bushy tail, and soft fur. Its prominent coloration is a blend of grey and olive-brown, with white underparts, distinguishing it from other species. The tail impresses with multi-toned grey and black bands. There are no notable variations in appearance across age, gender and subspecies.
Behavior
Grey-bellied squirrel exhibits diurnal behavior, foraging in trees for seeds, fruits, and nuts, implying its arboreal life-style. Like most squirrels, it grooms its fur meticulously. Notably, grey-bellied squirrel presents a social behavior, common to other Callosciurus species, characterized by playful group interactions.
