Diet
Minute leaf chameleon is primarily an insectivorous species, feeding on a range of small arthropods. This diminutive chameleon has a strong predilection for mites and small spiders, which constitute a considerable proportion of its diet.
Appearance
Minute leaf chameleon is one of the smallest chameleons, reaching only up to 3 cm in length. It has a short round body adorned with tiny scales, often brown or tan. The animal's distinctive rugby-ball shape is due to a flat, broad tail and its proportionately large head. The males have slightly longer tails than females, but both sexes lack the crests and horns typically associated with chameleons.
Behavior
Minute leaf chameleon is characterized for its solitary lifestyle, primarily active during the day while hiding among leaf litter at night. This species employs expertise in camouflage for both predation avoidance and its own insectivorous diet. Minute leaf chameleon preserves territory by remaining stationary within a small home range.
