Description
Bronchocela jubata, commonly known as the maned forest lizard, is a species of agamid lizard found mainly in Indonesia on the islands of Singkep, Java, Bali, Sulawesi, Karakelang, Salibabu; Nias Island, Singkap Island, Borneo (Kalimantan) also in Thailand, Cambodia and Philippines. Although in the past it was thought the species may be found in India, either on the mainland or in the Nicobars, this is not the case according to herpetologist Das (fr). It is also known

Maned forest lizard predominantly sustains on a diet of small invertebrates, with a particular preference for insects. This species is proficient in hunting both aerial and terrestrial insects, capturing its prey with remarkable agility and precision.
Appearance
Maned forest lizard is a long, slender lizard with rough, granular skin. They are primarily green with splashes of vibrant blue on their chin and neck. Adults also display a row of elongated, spiky scales down their back. Males can be distinguished by two rows of larger spines, whereas females have only one row. Maned forest lizard possesses a tail that is much longer than the body, with the capacity to regenerate if shed.
Behavior
Maned forest lizard is a diurnal and arboreal creature, spending most of its time in trees, where it displays excellent climbing and clinging traits. Primarily solitary, it exhibits territorial behaviors, hissing loudly when threatened. Maned forest lizard displays change in skin color for camouflage, aiding in its survival.
