  The Namaqua dwarf chameleon or the Western dwarf chameleon (Bradypodion occidentale) occurs in beach vegetation, along the west coast of South Africa and Namibia.

 Namaqua dwarf chameleon is a relatively small chameleon species with a slender body and smooth skin. Its main coloration ranges from green to brown, often displaying detailed patterns for camouflage. A distinctive casque, or helmet-like ridge, extends from its head to its back. Unlike many other species, there are no significant visual differences between genders or age groups in namaqua dwarf chameleon. 
   Behavior
 Namaqua dwarf chameleon is primarily a solitary species, engaging in solitary foraging within a specific home range. Its unique perching posture low to the ground enhances its camouflage strategy. It's known for its slow movement, avoiding detection from predators.
