Diet
Zebu, commonly known as Zebu cattle, are herbivores with a diet primarily comprising of grasses. Their complex digestive system allows them to consume low-quality vegetation, which they efficiently convert into energy.
Appearance
The zebu is a large-sized, sturdy animal, boasting a thick, short coat often grey or white but can be of various colors. They have a distinctive hump over their shoulders, long, drooping ears, and a dewlap. Both genders exhibit sizable, upward-curving horns. This breed is generally larger and more muscular in males, while females are relatively smaller with less pronounced features.
Behavior
Zebu is a social and domesticated animal, exhibiting a strong hierarchy within herds led by a dominant individual. It's known for its unique rumination process, allowing it to efficiently extract nutrients from plant-based food. Zebu has a remarkable heat tolerance, attributed to its distinctive hump, large ears, and sweat glands. No migratory or territorial behavior is observed.
