 Lifespan
 20-30 years
   Diet
Children's python primarily feed on small mammals like mice. This nocturnal species is a sit-and-wait predator, catching prey by ambush. However, in captivity, they are often fed pre-killed food for safety.
   Appearance
Children's python is a small to mid-sized, non-venomous snake with a slender, cylindrical body that can reach lengths of up to 1 meter. It has a unique pattern of banded, dark brown spots on its light brown skin. Younger specimens usually possess more vibrant colors and more pronounced patterns. Females are typically larger and heavier than males.
   Behavior
Children's python is primarily nocturnal, hunting and feeding during cooler evenings due to its inherent thermoregulation. It exhibits solitary behavior except during mating season. Children's python is non-venomous and uses constriction to subdue prey. In the wild, it uses burrows and rocks for shelter and prefers hiding spaces, indicating its preference for subterfuge over confrontational defense.
