Lifespan
4-6 years
Diet
Stripefoot anole primarily subsists on a diet of insects, in particular, beetles, ants, and spiders. Their robust jaw muscles allow them to crack open exoskeletons of arthropods for consumption.
Appearance
The stripefoot anole is a small-sized lizard, with a slender body and long tail. Its skin, finely scaled, sports a striking bright green, often adorned with subtle yellow stripes. Males display a larger dewlap, a flab of skin on the throat, than females, and can present a darker coloration during the breeding season. This species exhibits the ability to alter its color dramatically, ranging from bright green to dark brown, a feature predominantly seen in males.
Behavior
Stripefoot anole is characterized by diurnal activity and solitary nature. It engages in extensive territorial disputes where males perform elaborate visual displays of aggression. This species' behavior is molded by its arboreal habitat, where it climbs trees and basks in sunlight. Stripefoot anole's distinctive survival strategy includes agile evasion and camouflage.
