Diet
Cayman blue-throated anole has an insectivorous diet, predominantly consisting of arthropods such as spiders and beetles. The species has been observed to exhibit a snout-vent length-dependent dietary delimitation, with larger individuals feeding on bigger prey.
Appearance
Cayman blue-throated anole is a small, slender lizard with rough, granular and slightly keeled scales. Its color varies from brown to green, often with dark spots or irregular lines on the back and sides. It has a long, slim tail, and males exhibit a folded, brightly colored dewlap under the throat. Its toes are elongated with adhesive pads for ease of tree-climbing.
Behavior
Cayman blue-throated anole are adept climbers noted for territorial behavior, within which males defend designated territories using visual displays or physical conflict. Generally solitary, they employ a forage-type hunting strategy, consuming a diet majorly comprised of arthropods. During mating periods, males display a unique dewlap extension behavior to attract females.
