Equatorial anole resides in the moist lowland forests and grasslands, exhibiting remarkable adaptability. It exhibits diurnal behaviors, actively pursuing insects during the daytime. Interestingly, the male equatorial anole engages in a dazzling display of dewlap extensions and body color changes to assert territory and attract females, demonstrating a fascinating complexity of both social and sexual behaviors.

Diet
Equatorial anole chiefly subsists on invertebrates, particularly insects. Complex hunting techniques are employed by this species to capture a variety of prey, including beetles, spiders, and crickets, contributing to a nutritionally diverse diet.
Appearance
Equatorial anole is a relatively small reptile with an elongated body and vertically oriented pupils. Its smooth scales primarily exhibit a vibrant green hue. A notable feature is the yellowish belly. Males are distinguished by their prominent dewlap, a flap of skin under their chin which is yellowish-orange with a striking blue centre. Juveniles are known to have brighter green colouration, which becomes darker and duller with age.
Behavior
Equatorial anole is a solitary and arboreal species, spending most of the day foraging in tree canopies for insects. It exhibits territorial behavior, males vigorously defending their areas against rivals. When it comes to mating rituals, an elaborate visual display is performed by extending and contracting their brightly colored dewlap. Adaptations include excellent camouflage to blend seamlessly into the surrounding foliage.
