The bronze anole (Anolis aeneus) is a species of anole lizard found in the Caribbean Lesser Antilles and South America. It is distributed on Grenada and throughout the Grenadines islands, and it has been introduced to Trinidad and Tobago. It can also be found in Guyana on the mainland, where it is locally abundant, though these populations are not native, either.

Appearance

Females lack these vibrant dewlaps, resulting in a slightly less colorful appearance. Young bronze anole individuals appear similar to adults but are typically duller in shade.

Bronze anole is a mainly solitary, diurnal species notable for its vertical territory marking through push-up displays. Its distinctive perch jumping behavior is crucial both for prey capture and escaping predators.
