 The North American green toad, Anaxyrus debilis, also known by its old name Bufo debilis, is a species of toad found in the southwestern United States in the states of Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Kansas, and Texas, as well as in northern Mexico in the states of Tamaulipas, San Luis PotosÃ, Durango, and Zacatecas. It is commonly called green toad (with many variants).

 North american green toad is insectivorous, predominantly feeding on small arthropods. It has a preference for ants and termites, but also eats beetles, spiders, and other small invertebrates, ingesting these with its sticky tongue. 
   Appearance
 North american green toad is a small toad with a somewhat elongated body and a dry, warty skin. It displays a varying color palette from greenish-gray to reddish-brown, often with dark blotches or spots. Their bellies are typically a uniform light color. Despite the lack of tails or wings, they possess striking golden eyes. There is no significant difference in appearance between genders or life stages. 
   Behavior
 North american green toad is primarily a nocturnal species that forages for food at night. Its solitary lifestyle is characterized by its distinct calling and mating behaviors during the breeding season. Though non-aggressive, it uses concealment as a key survival strategy in its natural habitat.
