Description
Amolops wuyiensis, Wuyi Torrent Frog, is a species of frog in the family Ranidae that is endemic to south-eastern China where it is found in Fujian, Anhui and Zhejiang provinces. Its name refers to the Wuyi Mountains in Fujian.

Appearance
Wuyi torrent frog are medium-sized frogs with a stout, compressed body covered in warty skin. They are primarily greenish-brown with distinct darker mottlings. Their eyes are large and golden, while the underside is pale with mottled brown. They possess well-developed webbed feet and a pronounced dorsolateral fold running from the eye to the body. No significant differences exist between genders or ages in terms of their physical appearance.
Behavior
Wuyi torrent frog are nocturnal, most active during twilight hours. Primarily terrestrial, they forage for insects on forest floors, exhibiting unique agility in climbing rocks and trees. Though solitary in nature, wuyi torrent frog display a unique semio-territorial behavior, with males often defending small ranges during mating season. Females are also noted for their distinctive laying of eggs on rocks near bodies of water.
