   Diet
South australian velvet gecko predominantly feeds on small arthropods that include insects and spiders. With an almost insectivorous diet, this species has a preference for soft-bodied prey over hard-shelled insects.
   Appearance
South australian velvet gecko is a medium-sized lizard, with an elongated, slender body and a prehensile tail. Its skin is rough, covered with small scales, and predominantly a mottled greyish-blue colour, providing excellent camouflage against its rocky habitat. Notably, males boast a more vibrant blue hue and larger body size compared to females. There's neither significant variation in appearance due to age nor subspecies.
   Behavior
South australian velvet gecko are diurnal creatures known for their 'sit-and-wait' hunting strategy. Solitary by nature, these lizards maintain distinct home territories, often returned to after foraging expeditions. Interestingly, they exhibit an unusual display of push-ups when confronted, likely serving as a deterrent for predators.
