Diet
Black howler, commonly known as the Black Howler Monkey, complies with a predominantly folivorous diet. It feeds chiefly on leaf blades, but variety is added with flowers, fruits, and buds, making it a preferential browser.
Appearance
Black howler is a large primate covered in dense, coarse fur. Adult males are distinctly black, while females and juveniles appear yellowish. The torso is quite robust with a strong tail specialized for hanging and swinging in trees. Its facial skin is black, contrasted by a mantle of long sideburn-like hair. The most distinctive feature is its large throat sac, allowing it to produce powerful vocalizations.
Behavior
Black howler displays diurnal, social behavior with groups typically consisting of multiple males and females.
