Diet
The diet of yucatán cantil chiefly comprises small rodents, which it hunts using a venomous bite. Notably, squirrels and rats form a significant part of its dietary intake, indicating a preferential feeding behaviour towards these mammal species.
Behavior
Yucatán cantil is a primarily nocturnal species, demonstrating solitary behavior except during mating season. Outstanding for its ambush hunting tactic, the species patiently lies coiled, using its cryptic coloration as camouflage before striking prey. Territory ownership isn't evident; the species often depends on microhabitats within their range.
