Description
The Persian spider gecko (Agamura persica) hails from semidesert regions of Iran, Pakistan, and Afghanistan, where temperatures range from extreme summer day highs to extreme winter night lows.

Appearance
Persian spider gecko is a compact, ground-dwelling reptile with a flat body, measuring around 10 centimeters long. Its leathery skin is covered in granular scales that display a tan to copper-brown hue, featuring darker markings, which blend seamlessly into the background. Males are distinguished by more robust and wider heads. Persian spider gecko does not possess any other conspicuous features such as wings, horns, or a prominent tail.
Behavior
Persian spider gecko exhibits primarily nocturnal, solitary behavior, foraging during cooler hours to conserve water. This species uses specialized digging techniques in search of prey and to escape heat, displaying significant burrowing skills. Predominantly territorial, persian spider gecko communicates its ownership through a unique toe-drumming on the substrate.
