Diet
Gliding leaf frog is an insectivorous species, predominantly feeding on small arthropods. This tree-dwelling frog often captures prey like beetles, spiders, and caterpillars during its nocturnal hunting sessions.
Appearance
Gliding leaf frog is a medium-sized tree frog with round, bulging eyes and a sleek, moist skin. Its vibrant coloration, consisting of neon green back and sides, contrasts sharply with its blue-black underbelly. No significant differences are observed due to age, gender, or subspecies. This frog is noteworthy for its extraordinarily long, slender limbs and oversized toe pads used for expert climbing and navigation in its arboreal habitat.
Behavior
Gliding leaf frog is primarily nocturnal and highly arboreal. This species exhibits seasonal color change, being green during the rainy season and brown in the dry season, for effective camouflage. It exhibits explosive breeding behavior during heavy rainfalls, where large groups congregate around water bodies. While it's solitary most of the year, intense social interaction occurs during the breeding phase.
