Description
Afrixalus delicatus, the delicate leaf-folding frog, delicate spiny reed frog or Pickersgill's banana frog, is a species of frog in the family Hyperoliidae. It is found in Southern and Eastern Africa, from eastern South Africa and Swaziland (not confirmed) northward through Mozambique, the low altitude parts of Malawi and Tanzania, southeastern Kenya to southern Somalia.

Appearance
Delicate spiny reed frog is a small, slender, smooth-skinned frog. Its general coloration ranges from pale silver to dark gold, adorned with a defining 'X' or 'H' marking on the back. The most striking feature is its black eyes contrasting against a silver triangular patch. Notably, the males have black throat patches and are slightly smaller compared to females. The legs, especially the hind ones, are long and well-adapted to a jumping lifestyle.
Behavior
Delicate spiny reed frog engages in crepuscular behavior, with notable activity spikes during twilight hours. This species is typically solitary until mating season when males' distinctive chirping attracts females.
