Description
Acanthosaura coronata is a species of agamid lizard commonly known as the crowned spiny lizard. They are found in the lowland tropical forests of eastern Cambodia (type location) and Vietnam (Lam Dong and Dong Nai provinces). They are diurnal. Although often found near the ground, they have cryptic colouration and climb trees when threatened.

Crowned Pricklenape primarily feasts on arthropods, specifically incorporating a diet of insects and spiders. This diurnal reptile shows preference for ants, beetles, grasshoppers, and various small spiders, capitalizing on its acute hunting prowess.
Appearance
Crowned Pricklenape is a medium-sized lizard, with a scaly skin and a robust, slightly flat body. Its primary coloration is brown with irregular spots, affording it excellent camouflage. The most distinctive feature is a series of curved, helmet-like horn protrusions on its head and neck. The tail is long, robust, and slightly spiky. There are no significant differences in appearance due to age, gender, or subspecies.
Behavior
Crowned Pricklenape is primarily arboreal, using its prehensile tail to navigate forest habitats. It displays crepuscular tendencies, keeping still during the day and becoming active at twilight to forage for insects. This solitary creature displays strong territorial behavior, often engaging in aggressive displays towards intruders.
